-
Trusted Quality: Manufactured by Novo Nordisk, the Novolin R FlexPen is produced to the highest standards of quality control, ensuring consistent and reliable insulin delivery for individuals with diabetes.
How It Works:
-
Prepare the Pen: Remove the cap from the Novolin R FlexPen and inspect the insulin. Novolin R is a clear insulin, so no mixing is required. Attach a new needle to the pen.
-
Prime the Pen: Before using the pen for the first time, prime it by dialing to 2 units and pressing the injection button until insulin appears at the needle tip. This ensures that the pen is working properly.
-
Set the Dose: Dial the dose to the prescribed amount (measured in units) by turning the dose selector. Ensure the correct dosage is selected.
-
Inject the Insulin: Clean the injection site with an alcohol wipe, then insert the needle and press the injection button. Hold the pen in place for about 10 seconds to make sure the full dose has been delivered.
-
Dispose of the Needle: After the injection, remove the needle and dispose of it in a sharps container. Replace the cap on the FlexPen and store it according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Important Information:
-
Do Not Share Pens or Needles: The Novolin R FlexPen is for single-user use only. To avoid cross-contamination or infection, do not share your pen or needles.
-
Storage: Store the Novolin R FlexPen in the refrigerator (36Β°F to 46Β°F / 2Β°C to 8Β°C) before first use. After the first use, it can be stored at room temperature (up to 77Β°F / 25Β°C) for up to 28 days. Do not freeze the pen. If the pen has been frozen, it should not be used.
-
Monitor Blood Sugar: Regular blood glucose monitoring is essential while using Novolin R FlexPen. Work with your healthcare provider to determine the best insulin regimen and adjust doses based on your blood sugar levels.
-
Possible Side Effects: Like all insulin products, Novolin R FlexPen may cause low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), weight gain, or injection site reactions. Consult your healthcare provider if you experience any unusual symptoms.
-
Injection Site Reactions: Common reactions include redness, swelling, or itching at the injection site. Rotate injection sites regularly to avoid irritation or lipohypertrophy (fat accumulation under the skin).
Additional Information:
